JavaFX Scene Builder

This meetup is on as scheduled.  Sorry for the misleading message that was left from last time.

Please see here for a photo and directions: http://www.oracle.com...

Event Description

JavaFX Scene Builder is coming! In this session, Jasper Potts and Nicolas Lorain will introduce JavaFX Scene Builder, a new visual development tool for the JavaFX platform that allows users to drag and drop positioning of graphical components onto a JavaFX scene. As you build the scene, it automatically generates the FXML code corresponding to it. It provides a simple yet intuitive interface that can help even non programmers to quickly prototype interactive applications that connect UI components to the application. Java developers can go a step further and bind the user interface components to your application's logic. The speakers will also share some updates on the JavaFX roadmap, and answer your questions.

Bio:

  • Nicolas Lorain is in charge of JavaFX Product Management and partner relations at Oracle. He is based in Santa Clara and has been involved with Java ME, Java Embedded, Java SE and JavaFX product strategy for over 10 years at Sun Microsystems and Oracle.
  • Jasper Potts' mission is to make the developer and designer experience of Java Client rock. This includes everything from designing and writing demos and sample applications to helping design the APIs to make them great for building real applications. Also responsible for designing, developing and presenting demos during the keynotes at JavaOne and Devoxx.
